My next Gasser

Postby 55project » Mon Sep 24, 2007 9:41 pm

We'll i got a 53 Chevy for my next Gasser project. It's an ugly green, but that will change soon.. It is an Arizona car, very little to no rust, the body and floor and frame are in really good shape for a 53, it's going to be a great start for me to make it a straight axle car, can't wait..

Here are some pics>>>>>

This is the bad side, one dent in the front fender..

And i may keep the 6 cyl ,, i like the old daul single carb intake, it's an Offey intake w/ rochester carbs. It runs great.. I might just add a 4-speed and on of my 12 bolts or my ford 9", we'll see..

I think it needs some torque thrusts ..or maybe Cragars ...Slots
I dunno just vintage :D

Pretty solid looking in the pictures
No rust is hard to find ..Even in Arizona

Good luck with this one

Blake heres the Trans

It sells with ..
BellHousing , Hurst Shift Linkage , fresh cut flywheel , shift fork .. various other stuff
you would need to tranfer it over ..if a 62 BelAir pedal set up will fit like it would
in my 59 ... That can go with it as well.. still in car
I took it out of a running driving car shited fine with no Issues

I was going to bolt it to the 409 and drop it in my 59 Hell Camino

I want to check a few more numbers on it so I can tell you if its an M20,M21orM22
and figure a price from there ...
below the pictures you'll see what I found so far

I was on my way out the door to go fishing for the day/night,.

I'm not sure if i want to build a 400 sbc or drop in my 383 that i have sitting fresh on a stand, But i just got offered a 454 BBC ( needs to be built) for a decent price so i'm thinking that way a little.. I have 2- 12 bolts and 1- 9" rear, and i will probably go 4 or 5 speed,, But if i start racing it to much i'll put an auto in it for just a little while..

And i'm not sure if i want to go tunnelram or 671 blower.. I have an old Edeldrock TRX-1 tunnelram that would work well on the 383 motor.. But if i go BBC i'm probably going to go 671.

To many choices in life,, LOL

And i only have one pipe the other was tossed out by accident by the guys mom when the cleaned out the garge.. :(

If i had them both i would have sold them, no problem..

8) Awsome pics,, 8)

The last 53 at the bottom is pretty much it.. I like the 54 grille teeth, but i have a 53, so i'll go with it.. I'll just have to mod in the turn signals..

And the 3rd from the bottom with the 55 Chevy eyebrows and fenders grafted in looks great,, I'm going to have to look into that.. Some of these metal guys are just amazing .. The Schitt they can do is beyond normal thought,, LOL
I wish we had one of them close to me, but it's pretty much insurance jobs only,, no-one does the old stuff around here anymore.. :(

Thanks again for the pics

And if you find one lakeside pipe, the other will be waiting, hanging on the garage wall.. :D
