After surviving a long cold winter ....

Postby Rick » Sat Mar 07, 2009 6:27 am

I rode all year long ,, Cold , Rain , Snow , you know all the un favorable weather
Got to get to work somehow ...

Thursday is a nice day Sun is out close to 50 * Traffic flowing nicely
coming down I 95 , I even have a ipod playing some classic rock
I'm just enjoying my ride home cruising @ 65 in the right lane

Then out of nowhere WHAM!!!!! some blind balloon knot rearends me sending me sideways
I'm leaning to the left ass ends is to the right ... accidently I pull the throttle back
the bike stands up ...I'm straight again ...

I look behind me No car in sight ..... Bastard kept going .........

I'm guessing some jackass was on there cell phone text messaging maybe dialing a number
I just can't understand how you DON'T see a bright red Bagger right in front of your face
or how you just keep right on going knowing you hit a motorcycle ..

End result is i'm here right now typing this ... So thats a good thing ... Right?
The tomato got a few battle wounds but will be ridin into work today

It was bad luck I got hit ... But on the other hand GOOD luck that I didnt hit the ground
Riding 65 mph then getting hit by an 80 ? mph car usually ends differently

MORAL OF THE STORY
Riding season is approaching
No matter how long you have been riding ,, How nice it is out side ..
or how perfect your day may seem

ALWAYS BE SAFE ..
Enjoy your Motorcycle and the New Season BUT PLEASE
Watch out for others because they certainly are not watching out for you

I hope to see more of you this year in the forums

Hey Rick,

Glad to hear your ok, That could have been much worse.. People have no morals any more, all they worry about is getting away. I always hated going up on 95 anyways, things happen to fast up there..
I can't go to work today -

Yo Ray ...
I'm not sure if I kept it up or the wind just happened to be blowing in the right direction

I'll tell you what ..... The Big Red Tomato not only held together it showed minimum damage
just a light bar some lenses and dent in the fender

What a GREAT OLD Harley ... Really saved my rear

Ray if you ever need to get in touch with me Feel free to call the (NEW) shop
I'm usually there most of the time .. 215-416-2009 or 215-458-7400

Hey Blake ... Thanks for poppin in ,,, and your right 95 is getting more and more like the ShureKill Expressway
